The California High School cross country teams competed at the Fulton Invitational Saturday, where the varsity Pintos placed eighth out of 18 teams led by Adam Burkett, who medaled in ninth place with 17:38.

California's varsity girls finished in seventh place out of 15 teams led by Leah Korenberg, who medaled in 13th place with 21:16.

Hunter Carpenter led the JV Pintos as he medaled in fourth place with 20:28, followed by Cord Mitchell who medaled in 10th place with 20:49.

"While we didn't place as high as a team in this meet as we would have liked, we are still dropping our individual times," California Coach Kenny Goans said. "Of our 15 runners, 10 dropped their times anywhere from 15-70 seconds. We came into this meet with tired legs, so we're feeling good on what we'll be able to do with fresher legs at our next meet."
