Durham School Services California facility will receive Fleet Excellence Award

The Missouri State High Patrol is awarding the Fleet Excellence Award to the two fleets Durham School Services operates for the Moniteau County school district in California and the Moniteau County R-V school district in Latham.

"We take great pride maintaining our buses to the highest standard to ensure passenger safety," said Kevin Rhine, region manager for Durham. "Every school day, our drivers conduct a multi-point inspection before and after each route to check for maintenance issues that need immediate attention. In addition, all buses are subject to comprehensive preventive maintenance inspections at lest three times a year; that is above and beyond government requirements. All inspections include everything from addressing cosmetic issues to checking tires, brakes, engine performance and suspension."

During the bus inspections, the MSHP checks approximately 100 items, including the tires, brakes, doors, hatches, air compressor, seats and seat belts.

"Safety is our top priority at Durham," continued Rhine. "I am extremely proud of the maintenance teams at each facility for their dedication to putting the safest vehicles on the roads. Achieving this ward takes a lot of hard work and it showcases our commitment to the safety of our passengers, drivers and the general public."
