The California CROP Walk for 2014 is to be held Sunday, Sept. 7, beginning at 4 p.m. at the Lions Club Shelter House at Proctor Park. This year's theme is "Ending Hunger One Step at a Time."
The 2013 event raised more than $19,000. A portion of the funds raised this year will be utilized by the Moniteau Christian Ministries Center for the food pantry and the buddy pack program. The interfaith CROP Walks are part of Church World Service (CWS). The events raise funds to assist local communities, helping in having fresh water and provide animals, seeds and training to help people provide for their families.
