During the Christmas holidays children in the California area will need food. School will not be in session and children will not be receiving the regular breakfast and lunches provided.
The California Bus Barn employees along with Durham School Services are challenging California residents to pack a school bus with can goods and non-perishable food items to be placed in buddy packs for students who need food for the holidays.
The bus will be at Cal's Supermarket Tuesday, Dec. 9, from 2-7 p.m.; at C&R Market Wednesday, Dec. 10, from 2-7 p.m.; and on the circle drive at the Elementary School all day Thursday, Dec. 11. Please consider making a contribution to stop child hunger in the California community.
Last year 258 pounds of food was donated. The organizers are hoping the generosity of California residents will double the size of the donation for this year.
