Arrest made in cattle theft

Following the alleged theft of cattle from a sale barn in Miller County on Friday, Nov. 21, law enforcement agencies were alerted to be on the lookout for a suspected vehicle.

According to the Moniteau County Sheriff's Department, a vehicle with trailer answering the description of the suspected cattle thief was stopped on Highway 87 at the Highway 50 interchange.

Michael Shane Webb, 40, Humphreys, has been charged in connection with the alleged theft of 20 calves. In Moniteau County Court, a charge of Class C Felony receiving stolen property was filed on Dec. 1. In Miller County Court, charges of Class B Felony stealing livestock valued at more than $10,000 and Class B Felony burglary in the first degree were filed on Nov. 21.

Bond was set at $50,000 by the Moniteau County Court. Bond was set at $200,000 by the Miller County Court.
