"Christmas Carol Request Live' presented at High Point R-III

High Point R-III students presented "Christmas Carol Request Live" Thursday, Dec. 18, at 6:30 p.m. for friends and family gathered in the gym.

The musical was directed by High Point music teacher Sonda Brown.

The evening began with the High Point band sharing two numbers, "Jolly Old St. Nicholas" and "Jingle Bells."

Destiny Cook, eighth grade, and Elizabeth Eidson, seventh grade, took over as announcers on a live radio station taking request from callers. As songs were requested the kindergarten and first grade classes entertained the packed house with "I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus," "Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer" and "Gingerbread Man."

"Winter Wonderland," "Little Drummer Boy" and "Jingle Bell Jazz" were selections sang by second and third graders.

The fourth grade class shared "Frosty the Snowman," "Silver Bells" and "We Need a Little Christmas."

The fifth and sixth graders sang "Christmas Time is Here," "Jingle Bell Rock" and "Swinging in a Holiday Mood."

Twelve seventh and eighth graders sang "Do You Hear What I Hear," "Sleigh Ride" and "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree."

In conclusion, the student body sang "We Wish You a Merry Christmas."

The students, staff, family and friends in attendance adjourned to the cafeteria for Christmas treats.
