Security methods discussed at county Crime Watch meeting

A presentation regarding security methods for making property and home more secure was given at the Moniteau County Crime Watch meeting Tuesday in California.

The presentation was given by David Shaul, retired Missouri State Highway Patrolman and Missouri National Guard Colonel. He spoke about security methods and offered various suggestions and techniques on improving security.

To help prevent theft, some very basic, common sense steps are for people to lock their house doors and cars. It was also recommended to make certain house and car keys are not easily accessible to anyone other than those authorized to use them. During the discussion, others present presented ideas on improving security. Many of those ideas are not expensive.

At the Ozark Ham and Turkey Festival, Sept. 20, Crime Watch will have members available the 911 Center's booth with information available about the county-wide group.

The date, time and location of the next quarterly meeting in October will be announced as plans come together.
