The California High School varsity girls golf team hosted Hallsville Tuesday, Sept. 2, at the California Country Club, where the Lady Pintos came away with the match win with 188. The Lady Indians finished with 236.

California's Sophie Brant and Rylee Glenn were co-medalists with 46 each individually. Becca Hamilton and Renee Roberts each shot a 48, and Haley Goans carded a 49.

"It was great to have all five of our golfers shooting in the 40's," California Head Coach Ashley Atteberry said.

The Lady Pintos participated in the Helias Invitational Wednesday, Sept. 3, at Meadow Lake Acres Country Club at New Bloomfield, where California placed seventh out of 16 teams.

Warrensburg won the title with 344, followed by the host, Helias, with 349. Rock Bridge finished third with 360; Kirksville fourth, 377; Camdenton fifth, 384; Jefferson City sixth, 393; and California seventh with 394.

Jenna Kosmatka, Helias, was the medalist with a 76.

Glenn shot a 95 to lead California. Goans carded a 96; Brant 99; and Roberts 104.

The Lady Pintos participated in the Marshall Invitational Monday at Indian Foot Hills Golf Course, where California grabbed the title with a team score of 391.

A total of eight teams competed at the tournament, where Smith-Cotton finished in second place, and St. Paul Lutheran placed third.

California was led by Glenn, who placed second individually with a 90. Goans finished sixth, Brant seventh, and Roberts eighth.

"The girls played well despite the fact that the course had just punched the greens, and they were very sandy, so it was hard to get a read on them."

California will participate in the Osage Invitational at 8 a.m. today (Wednesday) at Dogwood Hills Golf Resort.
