Midwest Computech has completed the installation of technology system upgrades to the California R-1 School District's network infrastructure. Prior to the install, the district had an outdated network that was struggling to meet the requirements of today's technology.

The new network is HP integrated with HP Access Points located throughout the three school campuses. Prior to the upgrades, there was a maze of wires running throughout the buildings and poor connectivity issues. The new network utilizes wired and wireless state-of-the-art technology including Category 6 Cabling, fiber optics, gigabit network connectivity and switches, and Intermediate Distribution Frames (IDF) to connect and route the network cabling from each classroom and office. Each building's network then cross-connects to the Main Distribution Frame (MDF) located in the High School.

The new network will provide a faster, more enjoyable end-user experience, quicker maintenance response times, and open the door for one-to-one and BYOD initiatives.

Today's K-12 schools require a strong network infrastructure in order to successfully support the learning environments needed to prepare students for higher education and life in a modern technology centered workforce.

The technology system upgrades were a part of the $4M No Tax Increase Bond Issue passed in April.

"California schools are now more prepared to meet today's technology demands and ready for future technology implementations. We are proud to have participated in that process by offering high tech solutions that will enhance student achievement and staff performance," said Midwest Computech CEO Greg Miller.
