Russellville pulls away from Osage

RUSSELLVILLE - The the help of heavy winds blowing out, Russellville hits two home runs its 9-6 win over Osage last Thursday. Caleb Harrison hit a two-run home run in the second inning to take the 5-3 lead, and Zach Voss homered to right field in the sixth inning to extend the Russellville lead to 9-4.

Harrison was 3-for-4 from the plate with three RBI.

Voss also had his first start on the mound of the season for Russellville, pitching three innings, giving up three runs, two earned, off five hits. He also struck out three. Seth Kuda pitched the remaining four inings, allowing three runs on six hits and striking out six.

After Osage scored two in the first inning, Russellville (2-3) answered with three runs. Osage then tied it in the second, but Harrison's home run put Russellville back up for good. They also had a run in the fourth and two runs in the fifth before Voss' homer.

Osage tried to put together a comeback in the seventh, scoring two runners, but Kuda struck out two and got a groundout to end it.

Indians win three striaght

ELDON - Russellville traveled to Eldon Saturday afternoon and came home with an 11-7 win for its third-straight win to imporve its record to 3-3.

Ryland Johnson earned the win working 5 1/3 inning, giving up six runs, three earned, on nine hits and he struck out eight while not allowing a walk. Johnson also recorded two hits, an RBI and two runs scored.

Issac Kirchner was 3-for-3 from plate with a walk and two RBI and Caleb Harrison tallied two hits and an RBI.

A seven-run third inning helped the Indians pull away.

Russllville's win streak snapped at Linn

LINN - Linn scored 10 runs on six hits to defeat the Indians 10-0 in a run-ruled shorten game Monday.

Isaac Kirchner recorded two of the team's three hits, singles in the first and fourth inning. Russellville (3-5) stranded six runners in the game, including four in scoring position.

Caleb Harrison pitched the final 3 1/3 innings, pitching 14 first pitch strikes to the Linn batters.

Linn put up five runs in the first inning and five more in the fourth to pull away from the Indians.

Indians suffer second consecutive loss

BELLE - Russellville suffered another setback Tuesday, losing to Belle 7-5 to drop its overall record to 3-5.

Ryland Johnson, Caleb Harrison, Seth Kuda and Cory Minor all recorded two hits, and Max Voss pitched 3 2/3 innings, allowing five runs on nine hits in the loss.

The Indians junior varsity won 6-4.

Russellville will host South Callaway tomorrow at 5 p.m., then will travel to Crane for two games Saturday, one with Crane at 12 p.m. and the other with Bakersfield at 2 p.m. They'll also play back-to-back nights on Monday and Tuesday, hosting Tuscumbia Monday at 5 p.m. and Fatima at the same time.
