The High Point seventh and eighth grade classes raised $770 Saturday, Dec. 5, at the first High Point Christmas Shopping Extravaganza. According to sponsor Kerry Eidson, "It was a great day and most vendors are returning next year and Santa will also return to High Point next year."

Shoppers had over 26 vendors to choose items from in the school gym. All proceeds for the booth spaces went to the eighth grade class for their annual school trip.

Santa was on hand from 1-5 p.m. and children shared their Christmas wishes with him while parents took photos.

The seventh and eighth grade students wrapped gifts for donations. Some items were bought on that day, while some just brought all their presents and had the students wrap them.

Overall it was a very successful event according to Eidson.
