FFA partners with MCMC

During the March meeting of the Moniteau Christian Ministries Center, Inc. (MCMC), it was reported that planning for the community garden is going well.

The California FFA Chapter, one of 138 FFA Chapters in 39 states and the Virgin Islands, was approved for the National FFA Organization's "Food For All" grant. The grant funding will support the Chapter's work towards reducing food insecurity throughout Moniteau County.

In cooperation with the University of Missouri "Grow Well Missouri" program, FFA students packaged seeds that are being given out to pantry clients starting this month during food pantry distributions. Students are also growing transplants in the FFA green house for use in container gardens.

Helping feed our neighbors in Moniteau County, the MCMC is blessed to have the support of the 205 members of the California FFA Chapter, led by Advisors Lee Longan, Adam Bieri and Dale Hodges.

The support of the Moniteau County community is also recognized. From volunteers at Project Share who put in some very long hours behind the counter and behind the scenes - sorting, cleaning and rotating the clothing, to customers whose patronage maintains the utilities and operating expenses for the entire Moniteau Christian Ministries Center, Inc. - you keep Project Share going.
