"After a long week the team was able to put together a solid performance," California coach Jon Lindquist said. "The guys and girls both had a great showing."

The boys placed first in 14 of the 18 events, including breaking the school record in the the 4x400-meter relay with a time of 3:28.42.

For the girls, Ellie Wirts placed in the top-four in four different events and Katie Imhoff won the 1,600-meter run.

CALIFORNIA -The Pintos girls and boys' track teams had a successful day last Tuesday at the California Invite, with both teams placing first overall. The boys placed in the top-eight in every event, including 11 first-place finishers and having multiple top-eight finishers in 13 of the 14 individual events. The girls also placed in the top-eight in every event with nine of those seeing multiple Pintos finishing in the top-eight.

"We had a great night and took the overall team scores for both the girls and boys' teams for the first time this year," Lindquist said. "We are proud of their effort and are excited to see what these kids can do in the conference meet."

Nathan Squires and Ramiro Garcia continue to dominate in the shot up and discus events, and for the girls, Audrey Pickering and Cameron Meyer placed first in shot put and discus, respectively.

Walker Borghardt and Gunner Baquet finished 1-2 in the long jump, and Josh Woodruff and Borghardt placed first and second in the triple jump.
