California High School Senior Ally Meisenheimer received a big surprise at lunch time Thursday, Oct. 29.
Amy Knollmeyer announced in the high school commons area that the very popular girl was the winner of the Amy Knollmeyer Photography Top Model Contest.
The winner of the Top Model Contest receives an all-expense paid modeling cruise. As the winner this year, Ally will be going on a cruise to Belize and Cozumel, Mexico, where she will photographed wearing outfits provided by Elly's Couture, Columbia.
This is the fifth year Knollmeyer's studio has held the Top Model contest. Every senior photographed by the studio by a certain date in September is entered into the contest. Photos of the contestants are posted on Facebook and Instagram, and then voted on for six People's Choice Winners. The votes are tallied by an on-line company with the top six selected by a panel of four judges, including the top model from the previous year.
The winner was Meisenheimer. Lauren Ziehmer, CHS, and Dara Wooldridge, Boonville High School, are runners-up. Knollmeyer said Ziehmer facilitated the activities and the surprise announcement at the high school.
Knollmeyer said this is not the first time she has photographed Meisenheimer for a special feature. She was photographed 10 years ago for the fundraiser "Heart and Soul" calendar for the Special Learning Center, Jefferson City. She received assistance from the center, because of having Down's Syndrome.
Meisenheimer is the daughter of Terry and Jill Meisenheimer.
