The annual "Muffins for Moms" event was held at the California Elementary School Thursday, Oct. 1. The special breakfast for an elementary student and their mother, grandmother, aunt or other female relative was held from 7 to 8 a.m.
The school's kitchen staff arrived at 6:15 a.m. to prepare and serve biscuits and gravy, and other regular breakfast items to 577 students and moms.
After breakfast, moms went on about their day and the students went to their classrooms. The event is organized by the elementary school staff to get to know the moms of the students and show appreciation for their involvement in the education of their children.
On Thursday, Oct. 8, "Donuts with Dads" will be held in the cafeteria beginning at 7 a.m.
