Jamestown 8, Bunceton 0:

BUNCETON - The Eagles had no problems in their win against Bunceton last Tuesday, scoring two runs in the first inning and three in the third to jump out early on the Dragons.

Christian DeVore led the offense with four RBI on 3-of-4 batting, and Garrett Wolfe was 2-for-3 from the plate with two RBI and a walk. Austin Maslen also picked up two RBI from a 2-for-4 performance from the plate.

Austin Flippin got the start for Jamestown, pitching six innings of one-hit ball. He struck out 11 and walked three. Cole Theissen pitched the seventh inning, striking out one and allowing just one hit.

In the first inning, Flippin singled to lead off the inning, then advanced to second on a wild pitch. After a walk by Wolfe, DeVore singled to left field to score Flippin and Wolfe.

Theissen singled to right field to lead off the third inning, and later in the inning, Wolfe singled to left to score the runner. DeVore singled to center to score Wolfe and DeVore scored when Maslen singled to right to give Jamestown a 5-0 lead.

Jamestown scored three more runs in the sixth off singles by Wolfe, DeVore and Maslen again.

Jamestown 0, Pilot Grove 1:

PILOT GROVE - Despite Garrett Wolfe throwing a no-hitter, the Tigers were able to escape with the 1-0 win against Jamestown last Wednesday. Wolfe pitched six innings and struck out nine and had five 1-2-3 innings.

But the fourth inning, Wolfe allowed the lead off hitter to reach base. When a Pilot Grove batter attempted a bunt, Wolfe fielded it and had a throwing error to first base to allow the base runner to advantage to second base. Back-to-back ground outs allowed the runner to move to third then score.

Austin Flippin and Wolfe were the only batters to record hits, as the team only had four. Flippin was 2-for-3 from the plate with two singles, and Wolfe was 2-for-3 with a single and a triple.

Wolfe tripled in the sixth with two outs, but was ultimately stranded there.

Jamestown 14, Otterville 0:

The Eagles plated four runs in the first and six runs in the sixth to defeat Otterville Thursday. Jamestown also outhit Eagles 11-2.

Austin Flippin was 3-for-4 with a triple shy of hitting the cycle. He also had four RBI and two runs scored. Wyatt Hunziker was 2-for-3 with a single, a double, two RBI and three runs scored, and Christian DeVore was 2-for-3 with two runs scored and one RBI.

Colton DeVore pitched the three innings, striking out eight and walking four while giving up zero hits. Cole Theissen also pitched three innings, allowing two hits and he struck out four.

Jamestown 13, Calvary Lutheran 0:

The Eagles held the 4-0 lead through the first five innings, but exploded in the sixth inning, scoring nine runs.

Austin Flippin, Cole Theissen and Colton DeVore each had two hits, as the team totaled nine hits. DeVore was 2-for-3 with a single, double, three RBI and a runs scored. Flippin was 2-for-4 with two singles, two runs scored and an RBI. Theissen led the team with four RBI going 2-of-3 from the plate with a home run and a single.

Christian DeVore pitched a complete game four-hitter, striking out 10 and walking zero.

Russellville 11, Tuscumbia 0:

RUSSELLVILLE - The Indians scored early and often in their 11-0 win last Saturday. Russellville scored five runs in the first inning and two in the second and third innings to take a commanding 9-0 lead. Then the Indians added two more in the fifth inning to end the game due to the run-rule.

Aided by six errors by Tuscumbia, Russellville had six hits to score its 11 runs. Isaac Kirchner had two RBI, going 1-for-1, and Cole Freeman was 1-for-3 from the plate with two RBI.

Cole Minor pitched three innings, allowing three hits, and Tyler Voss pitched two innings, giving up just one hit.

Russellville 7, Pilot Grove 2:

RUSSELLVILLE - Russellville plated four runs in the third inning and that proved to be the difference in the Indians' 7-2 win against Pilot Grove last Monday.

The Indians added one run in the fourth, fifth and sixth to pad their lead.

Seth Kuda was 2-for-4 from the plate with two runs scored and an RBI, and Issac Kirchner recorded three RBI, batting 1-for-3. Adam Kennedy and Tyler Voss each had one RBI.

Austin Roe pitched seven innings for Russellville, allowing two runs - one earned - on six hits. Roe also struck out three Pilot Grove batters.

In the third, Kuda doubled home a run with one out, then Voss was hit by a pitch to plate another. Kirchner singled one batter later to plate two more runs.

Curtis Keller scored on a wild pitch in the fourth, and Kirchner singled to right in the fifth to score Kuda who singled to lead off the inning. That gave the Indians a 6-1 lead.

Russellville got its final run in the sixth, as Nick Thompson scored off a Kennedy single to right. Thompson led off the inning with a double.

Russellville at the New Bloomfield Tournament Saturday:

NEW BLOOMFIELD - The Indians split a pair of games Saturday at New Bloomfield, falling to St. Elizabeth 4-2 and beating Eugene 8-7.

Seth Kuda took the loss in the first game, pitching a complete-game while giving up four runs on six hits and striking out three.

Tyler Voss was 1-for-3 with a double and a RBI, Isaac Kirchner batted 1-for-3 with a double and a run and Cory Minor, Cole Dawson and Kuda had one hit each.

Against Eugene, Curtis Keller earned the win in relief, pitching the fifth and sixth innings. Kirchner closed the game out in the seventh for the save.

Kuda was 2-for-3 with a walk and four runs scored, Kirchner was 1-for-2 with three RBI and two walks and Cole Freeman was 1-for-3 with an RBI.
