The World's Largest Turkey Sub Sandwich, sponsored by Cargill, Inc., was constructed on the south side of the Courthouse Square Saturday, Sept. 19, at the Annual Ozark Ham and Turkey Festival.

The sandwich was 72.5 feet in total length.

Construction of the sandwich began at 11 a.m., with approximately 15 people working to build the sandwich. They used two-foot sections of sub-sandwich bread, lettuce, tomato, onions, Miracle Whip, two kinds of cheese, and three kinds of turkey to build the enormous sub.

Serving began at 11:30 a.m. with honorary servers being Mayor Norris Gerhart, Festival Chairman Brad Baer and Prosecuting Attorney Shane Healea.
