California R-I Elementary Principal Daniel Williams has resigned his position, effective at the end of the current school year. For the next school year, he will be at a new school, Tipton R-VI School. And he will be known as Superintendent Williams.

Williams has been California's elementary principal for four years and elementary, middle and high school assistant principal for four years before that. He is not totally unfamiliar with the Tipton School District. He actually was a sixth grade teacher at Tipton for three years prior to being hired on at California R-I. Before teaching in Tipton, he taught fifth grade at the Stover school district.

"I am grateful to have served in California for eight years," Williams said. He is not worried about the school, saying, "The school is in good hands."

He noted that each district is different. "When I taught at Stover, fifth grade was middle school. At Tipton, sixth grade was elementary school." Then he came to California, where fifth grade is elementary and sixth grade is middle school.

Williams received a bachelor of science in education from University of Central Missouri. From William Woods University, he received a master of elementary education administration and secondary administration and a specialist degree in school superintendency.

Williams is married to California fourth grade teacher Kelli Williams. They and their three daughters and two sons reside on the family farm.
