The California Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Nic Nac Cafe March 23, 2019, to celebrate the establishment's new ownership. David Wyatt became the cafe's new owner Jan. 1.

Three months after changing ownership from Jackie Heather to David Wyatt, the Nic Nac Cafe was honored with a ribbon cutting ceremony March 23.

While the ceremony was held by the California Chamber of Commerce, it was Wyatt's daughter, Reighlynn, who did the most important job of all: cutting the red ribbon.

Wyatt, the former manager at Sonic, said the change of pace has been good for him and his family as they all learn a new building and menu items.

"It's been really welcoming," Wyatt said. "We're just trying to keep the old traditions alive, but with a new generation."

This idea is reflected on his team member's shirts by saying "Original Roots; New Generation."
