California Pintos basketball closed out their season with the team's annual banquet Monday night at California High School.

Head coach Brad Conway and his assistants, Brandon Kliethermas and Robb Hartman addressed the crowd for the postseason banquet.

The Pintos had a combined record of 43-22 among their three teams. The freshman finished 9-6, junior varsity finished 17-5 and varsity finished 17-11.

Forward Hayden Kilmer was selected 2nd Team All-Conference and guard Ayden Bryant was selected as an All-Conference Honorable Mention. California's All-District players have yet to be announced.

In the team awards, California's seniors, Ayden Bryant and Gavin Porter were both named Co-MVP of the team. Porter led the Pintos in rebounds and assists in the 2023-24 season.

Kilmer was named offensive player of the year and led the Pintos in three-pointers. Guard Brooks Volkart was named defensive player of the year and led the Pintos in steals. Hunter Hall was named rookie of the year and William Cotten was named as California's most improved player.

During Monday's banquet, Conway said he was pleased with the results of the season in building towards a goal the team set last year. At the end of the Pintos' 2022-23 annual banquet, Conway laid down a challenge for a his team after finishing with a 12-15 record - build a stronger culture of winning and excellence.

Conway laid down another challenge to his remaining players as they prepare for the 2024-25 season over the summer.

"I just can't say enough about these players and the progress that they have made over the season. You've all done a nice job of helping us get closer to where we want to be as a team and a program," Conway said. "The summer is going to be very important for us. We're going to have to work even harder to maintain where we are at. While also aiming for better success. To those of you who will be here next year, the season starts this summer and I hope you'll be ready to get to work like I will be."
