Registration for all children who plan to attend kindergarten this fall at High Point R-III school will be on Wednesday, May 1. Children registering must be five years old on or before July 31. Registration and screening will be held at the High Point School. Parents/guardians should bring the following information to this screening: child's state-issued birth certificate, child's immunization record, child's social security number, proof of residency in the High Point School District such as rent receipt, utility bill or phone bill. If you have not already done so, please contact the school at 660-489-2213 to request an appointment time.

Students raise funds form American Heart Association
California High School is hosting ACT Workshops through April to help current juniors and seniors prepare for the ACT Test. The next workshop will be held 5:45-7:45 p.m. Wednesday, today, in Peggy Huhmann's classroom at CHS, for the Science/Math portion of the ACT Test. The next workshop is scheduled for 5:45-7:45 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, in the Library Media Room, for the English/Reading portion of the ACT Test. Students in grades 10-12 who are interested in attending the workshops must purchase a workbook for $21. (If planning to attend both the English and Science workshops, two workbooks will be required at a total cost of $42.) Students must have possession of the workbook in order to attend. Those who have attended previous workshops may use their previously purchased workbook. (Those planning to do so need to see CHS teachers Dana Barr, Peggy Huhmann or Kuebler to verify they plan to attend.) The scheduled workshops are as follows. •English/Reading - 5:45-7:45 p.m. in the Library Media Room March 13 •Science/Math - 5:45-7:45 p.m. March 6 - Peggy Huhmann's room April 3 - Amy Kuebler's room

Team finishes fourth
The Dean's List recognizing students for their exemplary academic performance during the fall 2012 semester at Westminster College in Fulton, MO has been named. The Dean's List recognizes those Westminster students who have shown high academic performance during the past semester. To be included on the Dean's List, a student must have a 3.60 semester grade point average with at least 12 hours completed that semester. The 354 Westminster students named to this semester's Dean's List includes: Leigh Ann Lutz, Hoi Ying Suen, Nathanial Caudel, California; Nicolle Sweeten, Sarah Koestner and Katelyn Rapp, Lohman; and Hogan Davis, Fortuna.
