Two men from Iowa drowned Monday morning at the Lake of the Ozarks.
Missouri Highway Patrol reports show the incident occurred just at 8:10 a.m. at the 13-mile mark of the Big Niangua Arm of the lake.
The drownings occurred when Dennis Michel, 46, swam out to recover a pontoon that had come adrift from a dock.
Michel began to struggle in the water due to a medical condition.
Jacob Seeman, 40, swam out to assist Michel, but both men went under the water and did not resurface.
Their bodies were recovered after a brief search.
