Moniteau County pursuit ends in arrest

A California man was arrested this week after a pursuit in Moniteau County.

According to sheriff's department reports, Hansel Cain, 57, was charged in Moniteau County with resisting arrest and leaving the scene of an accident. He also was charged in Miller County with resisting arrest.

Moniteau County deputies were notified by Eldon police Monday of a pursuit with Cain, who was heading out of Eldon toward Moniteau County. Deputies joined the pursuit, which covered many gravel roads in the southeast portion of the county. The chase went into California, where police there joined the pursuit.

Eventually, Cain got onto High Street in California and struck a parked vehicle. He stopped at High and Aurora streets and fled on foot. A short time later, deputies chased Cain and took him into custody.
