The Moniteau County Collector's Office opened for business July 5, following the swearing in of Ellen Ash to the position.

With a county collector in office, the regular collector's business can be conducted, including taxes collected, receipts issued and lost receipts replaced. The office hours are: 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Ash received the bonding necessary for the position on June 30 and was sworn in on July 3. She reported the office has been doing a brisk business, with many residents relieved to have the office open again. It had been closed since June 1 following the retirement of Cheryl Duvall.

The appointment of Ash was made by Gov. Eric Greitens, and she received notification of the appointment late on June 20.

Ash is married to Lanny Ash and daughter of Lashley and Joyce Rohrbach, grew up near Jamestown and is a Jamestown High School alumni.
