UPDATE-Missing Jefferson City man found safe

UPDATE- Authorities announced just before midnight that John H. Christie, 81, of Jefferson City, was found safe. How he was located was not disclosed.

The Jefferson City Police Department has issued an Endangered Silver Advisory after an 81-year-old man went missing from his residential care facility on Thursday evening.

The missing adult is identified as John H. Christie, a white male, 6-feet-1-inch tall, weighing 175 pounds, with black hair, blue eyes and fair complexion. He was last seen wearing a light t-shirt, blue jeans, and slip on shoes.    

Police say his medical condition includes dementia and hearing impairment.

He's believed to be in a light blue 2010 Chrysler Town and Country van,  bearing Oklahoma license plate CPL405. His direction of travel is unknown.

Police report Christie was last seen at 5:45 p.m. Thursday with his Yorkshire Terrier in the parking lot of Oak Tree Villas, 3108 W. Truman Blvd. He recently moved from the state of Oklahoma to Jefferson City and he is unfamiliar with this area. He becomes confused and easily frustrated.

Anyone seeing the missing person or vehicle, or anyone having any information related to the endangered missing person is urged to call the Jefferson City Police Department or their nearest law enforcement agency.
