Ham and turkey dinner fundraiser for nutrition center

The California Nutrition Center will have its annual ham and turkey dinner fundraiser Jan. 21.

The menu for the big day is baked ham and turkey, dressing, potatoes and gravy, green beans, coleslaw, cranberry sauce, homemade bread and desserts. The dinner is served from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at the nutrition center at 107 W. Versailles Ave., California.

Costs are $9 for adults in advance or $10 at the door and children ages 6-12 are $5. The meal is free for children ages 5 and younger.

The annual dinner of ham and turkey is a major fundraiser for the nutrition center, which seeks to provide nutritious meals, at a reasonable cost, for older residents who continue to live independently. The event was first held 15 years ago. The ham and turkey served at the fundraiser is donated by local meat producing businesses, Burgers' Smokehouse and Cargill.
