Dow new agent at State Farm

A new face will welcome State Farm Insurance customers at the California office, but products and services will remain the same.

Tony Dow is the new local agent, as of July 2 following Paul Bloch's retirement.

Dow brings with him Scooter, a chihuahua and dachsund mix, who will be in the office too, and his wife, Maddie.

A graduate of Central Methodist University, Fayette, Dow was a team member for three years in another office, learning the products and gaining experience.

The Cassville native said he and Maddie intentionally sought out a small-town office, where he hopes to make an impact on the local community.

"Paul was a great agent, a great guy; definitely what an agent should be," Dow said. "I will follow in his footsteps but in my own way.

"God has placed us here to serve."

The office was open for a meet-and-greet event July 2-3, including a drawing and free T-shirts.

A Customer Appreciation Day is planned for October.

Also, Dow announced the company's auto insurance has dropped its rates by 3 percent, averaging $26 savings per Missouri customer.
