The vocal music classes of California Middle School performed its 2018 Spring Concert May 6 at the high school.

The event featured tunes by the seventh- and eighth-grade Pinto Express and sixth-grade Music Connections. The performances were directed by Erika DeMoss and accompanied by Stacy Friedrich.

The performance began with the sixth-grade Music Connections performance of "Bonsa Aba," with rhythm by accompanying African-style instruments. The sixth-graders continued with performances of "Party in the USA," "The Moon," "I'm Seein' Things at Night," ending with "If I only had a brain."

The Pinto Express seventh graders were next on-stage, performing "The Cuckoo." They were then joined by the eighth graders to perform "Jubilate Deo," "Pie Jesu" "Can You Hear," and the Pinto Express Women performing "Yes, My Lord!"

The final piece of the concert was "Joshua!" featuring the combined choirs. The song was a rendition of Joshua fought the battle of Jericho.
