No parking on snow routes during emergency

California city officials have declared an emergency snow route alert beginning at noon on Friday and concluding when emergency snow routes have been cleared.

The police department issued a request on its Facebook page for motorists to avoid parking on posted snow routes until the alert is lifted, which is estimated to take 48 hours or more depending on weather conditions.

Emergency snow route alerts allow the city to plow curb to curb on main thoroughfares through town, police noted.

Vehicles parked on marked emergency snow routes during an emergency snow route alert will be ticketed and/or towed. Any vehicle towed will be at the owner's expense.
