Two people were arrested for illegal drugs following a vehicle stop Friday in Moniteau County.
A deputy on routine patrol saw a vehicle with no lights on parked in the Missouri Department of Transportation gravel area on Missouri 87, according to Moniteau County Sheriff's Department reports. As the deputy approached, the vehicle turned its lights on and began to leave the area.
The deputy eventually stopped the vehicle and later identified the driver as David McDaniel, 52, of Kaiser, who did not have a valid license. His passenger was identified as Lesia McDaniel, 52, of Kaiser.
As the deputy started to search the vehicle, David McDaniel stated there was a methamphetamine pipe under the seat. The deputy reportedly found the pipe along with other drug paraphernalia and more methamphetamine.
The McDaniels were arrested for possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia and taken to the Moniteau County Jail.
