The California High School freshman and JV football teams were on the road for football games against Blair Oaks Sept. 27, where the freshman Pintos captured a 50-6 win from the Falcons.

Though the Falcons led 6-0 after one quarter, it was the Pintos who turned on the heat to dominate the remainder of the contest.

In the second quarter, Seth Fairchild scored a 3-yard touchdown to even the score at 6-6. Jerry Lutz forced a Falcon fumble and Alexx Lewis had a fumble recovery. Lutz scored a 16-yard TD and Fairchild scored the two-point conversion, to put the Pintos on top 14-6. Quarterback Dylan Albertson added a 24-yard TD run, with Fairchild scoring the two-point conversion to leave California leading 22-6. Albertson scored another touchdown, this time for two yards, which left the Pintos leading 28-6 at the half.

Third-quarter action for the Pintos included J.T. Trachsel scoring a 20-yard TD with Albertson scoring the two-point conversion, and Jacob Johnson scoring on a 2-yard run, to give California a 42-6 edge going into the final quarter.

In the fourth quarter, Albertson hit Cristian Corona with a 27-yard TD pass, followed by a two-point conversion scored by Johnson. The Pintos came away with the win, 50-6.

"The guys really wanted this one and they came out and took care of business," California Coach Derek Sommerer said. "This was a great team effort and a great win!"

California's JV also defeated Blair Oaks, 24-0.

The Pintos hosted North Callaway Monday night, where California's JV lost 21-14 to the Wildcats, while the freshman Pintos captured a win, 21-14.

The Pintos will host Smith-Cotton beginning at 5 p.m. Monday for California's final games of the season.
