HARTMAN
Steven Craig Hartman, 51, formerly of California, Mo., passed away on Thursday, December 23, 2010 at his home in Monett, Mo.
He was the son of Kenneth Lee Hartman and Blanche (Forester) Hartman both of whom preceded him in death. He was born March 18, 1959 at Altus Air Force Base, Oklahoma.
Steven was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Jefferson City where he was baptized and confirmed. He graduated from California High School in 1977. He then enlisted in the United States Air Force and served during the Cold War in Turkey from April of 1980 to April of 1981. Upon returning home from the Air Force he enrolled in Linn State Technical College in Linn, Mo. He was a skilled carpenter, loving father, grateful son and loyal friend.
Survivors include one son, Captain Daniel Hartman and his wife Christina of Ft. Riley, Kan.; one brother Kenny Hartman of Jefferson City, Mo.; Sharon Rapert of Monett, Mo., Doris Walters and Maurita Swartwood both of California, Mo.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services in California, Mo. Burial will be at the Flag Springs Cemetery with full military honors. Officiating will be Rev. Dr. Peter Kurowski.

LAWSON
Raymond Lawson, 94, of California, Mo., passed away on Monday, December 20, 2010 at California Care Center.
He was born on November 24, 1916 in California, Mo., the son of Sidney Elmer and Catherine (Peters) Lawson, both of whom preceded him in death. He was married on May 20, 1942 to Mary Stark, who preceded him in death on December 16, 1997.
He was a 1935 graduate of California High School, and a member of First Christian Church in California. He was co-owner with his brother Norman of Lawson Locker and Grocery Service. Raymond served in the United States Army in World War II, serving mostly in Italy. He was a member of VFW Post #4345, and was a past president of the California Country Club.
Survivors include two sons, Mike Lawson and wife Maggie of California, Mo., and Steve Lawson of Normal, Ill.; one daughter-in-law Lana Lawson of California, Mo.; one brother Norman Lawson of California; and one sister Virginia Gerhart of Spring, Texas; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by one son, Jim Lawson; and one sister, Ruth Zey.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, December 23, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services in California. Burial was in California City Cemetery. Officiating was Rev. Chuck Butcher.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the First Christian Church of California, 107 N. Oak, California, MO 65018.

NAU
Carl Henry "PoPo" Nau, 87, of Otterville, died Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2010 at the Bothwell Regional Health Center in Sedalia.
He was born Aug. 1, 1923, in Spearville, Kan., the son of Charles and Rose Schreck Nau. On April 18, 1944 he married Betty Shean and she survives of the home.
He was a member of the Catholic church. He was a farmer most of his life. Carl moved to the Otterville area in 1960, then moved to town in 1972. He ran a service station in Otterville for 15 years and he loved woodworking.
Survivors besides his wife are: one daughter, Carlene Petree and Larry of Tipton, Mo.; three sons, Steve Nau and Judy of Boonville, Larry Nau and Cheri of Oak Grove, Mo., and Kevin Nau of Otterville; 16 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Pat Kramer; one sister, Ethel Heiland; and one brother, Vernon Nau.
Funeral services were held Friday, Dec. 24, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at the Meisenheimer Funeral Home in Otterville, with Rev. Harold Nicks officiating. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Otterville.
Memorials are suggested to the I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
SCHEIDT
William J. (Bill) Scheidt, 64, of Columbia, Mo., passed away on Wednesday, December 22, 2010.
He was born on June 9, 1946 the son of Eddie "Tobe" and Maxine (Dearing) Scheidt, both of whom preceded him in death. He was married on September 14, 1968 at Annunciation Catholic Church in California, Mo., to Rose Fischer who survives of the home.
He was a graduate of Prairie Home High School. He worked as a truck driver, driving for N. H. Scheppers Distributing Co., USF Dugan Freight Co., and Capitol Transport.
He is survived by two sons, C.W. Scheidt and wife Jessica of Ashland, and Kendall Scheidt of the home; two brothers, Charlie Scheidt and wife Janet of Columbia, and Mike Scheidt and wife Judy of Boonville; and one brother-in-law, Richard Adriano of Blue Springs. He was preceded in death by one sister, Wilmuth Adriano.
Mass of Christian Burial was held on Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Annunciation Catholic Church in California, Mo. Burial was in Annunciation Catholic Cemetery. Officiating was Father Fred Elskamp.

YOEST
Andrew John Yoest Jr., 85, Tipton, Mo., died Dec. 22, 2010, at St. Mary's Health Center, Jefferson City, Mo.
He was born July 3, 1925, in California, Mo., son of Andrew J. and Agnes Hartman Yoest Sr. He was married Oct. 4, 1947, in Tipton, Mo., to Mary A. Elmlinger who survives.
He was a member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church. He was a World War II veteran. He had worked at Fischer Pool Table Mfg. and Fasco Industries in Tipton and enjoyed farming. He liked to do woodworking and working with his livestock. He loved to spend time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include: his wife of 63 years; sons, Dan Yoest (Guin), Washington, Mo., and John Yoest (Chanry), Tipton, Mo.; daughters, Andrea (J.W.) Tilbury, California, and Delores (Richard) Bardwell, California, Mo.; brothers, Don and Marilyn Yoest, Tipton, Mo., and James and Marge Yoest, Lincoln, California; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Dec. 27, 2010 at St. Andrew's Catholic Church, Tipton, Mo., with Father Fred Elskamp officiating. Burial was in St. Andrew's Cemetery, Tipton, Mo.
