The California R-I Adult Ag education program is underway with meetings each Thursday evening at the high school horticulture building. Most of the topic meetings have been scheduled. Hopefully everyone will find something of interest among the wide variety of subjects available.

In case of inclement weather or changes for other reasons, the information will be posted as soon as possible. It also may be heard on KRLL on the 8:30 a.m. Community calendar. Cancellations will be announced on KRLL by 4 p.m. the day of the class.
According to Adult Education Coordinator Dale Hodges, the last meeting of this month, Thursday, Jan. 27, is a local tour of farms or agriculture-related businesses. This is a bus tour and participants should meet at the school at 6:30 p.m.
February meetings are:
Feb. 3 - Local Farmer Presentation - Come to hear about the operation of a local area farmer.
Feb. 10 - Sydenstricker Implement - Sydenstricker's of Tipton will bring some machinery to the school to address maintenance concerns in the area of tractor and baler issues.
Feb. 17 - Soil testing and Chemicals update - Andy Schmidt with MFA Inc. will speak on interpreting soil test results and how to use them and prsent an update on farm chemicals.
Feb. 24 - Circle A Angus Ranch - Nick Hammett discussing Circle A bulls and cows adding value at marketing.
March 3 - Greenhouse Activities - Get a head start on garden plants by coming to the greenhouse to plant bedding and flower seeds. Soil and a large seed assortment will be provided, or bring your own seed if you have something you would like to plant. Plants will be started in the greenhouse and may be picked up when weather permits.
March 10 - Private pesticide Applicator Training - Joni Ross of Morgan County Extension will give private pesticide applicator training and certification. The training is required by anyone wanting to purchase and use restricted herbicides and pesticides.
