The City of California Board of Aldermen did a walk-through of the area for the new sidewalk on Oak Street before the regular meeting at the City Hall Council Chambers on Tuesday, July 5.

The walk-through, conducted by Bob Gilbert of Bartlett and West Engineering, began at the Business 50 - Highway 87 traffic light and continued south on Oak Street (Highway 87) to the area of Lake Street. Items discussed included stormwater, curb and gutter, sidewalks, retaining walls, water line locations and walking trail.

In addition to the sidewalk and, where needed, curbing and guttering, retaining walls, changing certain storm water pipes and water lines, the project includes a crosswalk across Highway 87 with a connection to the existing walking trail in Proctor Park and an additional connection to the Deerbrook II facility.
