Upcoming Road Work for Mid-Missouri June 8 - 17

The following is a listing of general highway maintenance and construction work in the mid-Missouri area for June 8-17. Weather conditions may cause postponements in the work schedule. Other construction or maintenance work may occur on other roadways throughout the area. Many projects will include lane closures and delays can be expected.

All Counties

Daylight Hours

Mowing of right of way is underway in various locations. Motorists should travel with care and be alert to slow moving equipment along the roadside.

Benton County

Daylight Hours

Route 65 from south of Route 52 to just north of the Osage River in Warsaw - Widening highway to four lanes continues. The contractor continues working on grading, culverts and pipe work, and roadway construction. Traffic on existing Route 65 is not affected. The project is scheduled to be complete in summer 2012.

Route 65 between Route 7 south and Route AA - Concrete replacement will take place Monday, June 13 through Friday, June 17. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route P between Route 65 and Route E - Partial surface overlay continues through Friday, June 10. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Boone County

Daylight Hours

Interstate 70 between the Missouri River Bridge and Route BB - Concrete barriers are in place on the eastbound shoulder. Crews are working in the shoulder area to excavate and repair a portion of roadside fill to prevent the soil from sliding and damaging the pavement. Both eastbound lanes are open to traffic during the work. The ramp to Route BB is narrowed. The work continues through late July.

Route CC between Route 63 and Route 124 - Roadway resurfacing continues through Friday, June 10. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Daylight/Overnight Hours

Route NN bridge over Lick Fork Creek, three miles west of Route 63 - Bridge replacement is scheduled to begin the week of June 13. The bridge will be closed to traffic through mid-July. Motorists are asked to seek alternate routes around the work area. This project is part of the Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement Program.

Callaway County

Daylight Hours

Interstate 70 between mile markers 146 and 147 - Concrete replacement in the eastbound lanes continues through Wednesday, June 8. One eastbound lane will be open through the work area.

Interstate 70 between mile markers 151 and 154 - Concrete replacement in the westbound lanes will take place on Thursday, June 9. One westbound lane will be open through the work area.

Daylight/Overnight Hours

Route 63 bridge over Cedar Creek, 1.5 miles south of the Boone/Callaway County line Bridge deck replacement has been completed.


  • One northbound lane is closed through Thursday, June 16 while crews paint underneath the bridge.

  • Periodic lane closures will also take place in the southbound lanes to upgrade guardrail.

This project is part of the Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement Program.

Camden County

Daylight Hours

Route 54 in Linn Creek at the intersections of Route V and Business Park Road/East Valley Drive - Median turn lane construction and intersection improvements. The project has been completed. The route opened to traffic on Friday, May 27. Minor traffic delays can be expected as the contractor continues to work on striping and guardrail.

Route 7 between Route 5 and Route T - Roadway resurfacing will take place Thursday, June 16 and Friday, June 17. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Daylight/Overnight Hours

Route 54 between the Grand Glaize Bridge to west of Route KK in Osage Beach - Grading, drainage work, paving and bridges for the new Route 54 Expressway.

  • Traffic on Laguna Beach Road is routed on the service road where they will access the new Case Road Interchange.

  • Grading continues from Laguna Beach Road to the Grand Glaize Bridge.

  • The contractor is placing rock base on the new Route 54 Expressway from Nichols Road to Case Road interchange.

  • Key Largo Road traffic has moved to their new location west of where they currently access existing Route 54.

  • The new Nichols Road overpass is open to traffic.

  • The contractor is building tie-ins to the new Route KK. Traffic will be switched over to the new road location at the roundabout in stages. Traffic delays can be expected during the traffic switches.

This portion of the project is scheduled for completion in late 2011.

Route D bridge over Spencer Creek, 3.3 miles south of Route 54 - Bridge replacement continues. The bridge is closed to traffic until late-July. Motorists are being detoured around the work area on Route 54, Route 5 and Route D. This project is part of the Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement Program.

Route J bridge over the Little Niangua River, approximately six miles north of Route 54 - Bridge maintenance and repair continues through Thursday, June 9. The bridge is closed to traffic during the work. Motorists should seek an alternate route.

Camden and Miller Counties

Daylight Hours

Route 242/Horseshoe Bend Parkway between Lake Ozark Community Bridge and Route 54 - Grading and paving for a new four-lane highway.

  • The contractor is excavating and placing material on the western end of the project near the Lake of the Ozarks Community Bridge.

  • Construction is underway on a box culvert farther east in the work area. No traffic delays are expected at this time.

This project is scheduled for completion in late winter 2011.

Cole and Miller Counties

Daylight Hours

Route AA between Route 54 and Route C - Cinder sealing roadway surface to extend pavement life. The operation continues through Wednesday, June 8. Motorists should expect to encounter loose gravel on the road surface for several days after the seal is complete. At that time, crews will sweep the roadway. Drivers should lower their speeds through the area. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Cooper County

Daylight Hours

Route 5 bridge over Interstate 70 in Boonville - Concrete replacement continues through Friday, June 10. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route Y between Route 87 and end of state maintenance - Roadway patching and repair will take place Monday, June 13 through Thursday, June 16. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Gasconade County

Daylight Hours

Route 100 between Route 19 and Route N - Partial surface overlay will take place Wednesday, June 8 through Friday, June 10. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Miller County

Daylight Hours

Route 54 from Business Route 54 in Eldon to the Cole County line - Roadway resurfacing in the eastbound lanes continues. One eastbound lane will be open through the work area. This project will continue through mid-June.

Route W between Business Route 54 and Route Y - Roadway resurfacing will take place Monday, June 13 through Friday, June 17. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route Y between Route 52 and the Morgan County line - Partial surface overlay continues through Thursday, June 16. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Moniteau County

Daylight Hours

Route 179 between the Cooper County line and the Cole County line - Partial surface overlay will take place Monday, June 13 through Friday, June 17. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route MM between Route F and end of state maintenance - Partial surface overlay will take place on Monday, June 13 through Friday, June 17. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Morgan County

Daylight Hours

Route 52 between Route C and Route AA - Roadway resurfacing continues through Friday June 17. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route W between Route 5 and the Miller County line - Roadway resurfacing continues through Friday, June 10. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Osage County

Daylight Hours

Route P between Route 133 and Route T - Partial surface overlay will take place Monday, June 13 through Thursday, June 16. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Route JJ between Route 63 and end of state maintenance - Partial surface overlay will take place Wednesday, June 8 and Thursday, June 9. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Sestak Slab low water crossing on County Road 521, approximately three miles from Route T - Replacement of the low water crossing as part of federal stream mitigation requirements is scheduled to begin Wednesday, June 15 and continue through mid-August. The road will be closed to traffic during construction. Motorists are asked to seek alternate routes around the work area.

Pettis County

Daylight Hours

Route 65 between Route B and the Benton County line - Roadway resurfacing in the northbound lanes will continue through Friday, June 17. One northbound lane will be open through the work area.

Route E bridge over Flat Creek, one mile north of Route 52 - Bridge maintenance continues through Friday, June 10. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Daylight/Overnight Hours

Route W bridge over Flat Creek, 4.5 miles south of Route 50 - Bridge replacement is scheduled to begin the week of June 13. The bridge will be closed to traffic through late July. Motorists will be detoured around the work area on Routes 50, 135 and DD. This project is part of the Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement Program.

Route HH bridge over Cedar Creek, four miles east of Route 65 - Bridge replacement continues. The bridge is closed to traffic until mid-June. Motorists are being detoured around the work area on Routes 50, 65 and O. This project is part of the Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement Program.

Pettis, Morgan and Moniteau Counties

Daylight Hours

Route 50 from east of Sedalia city limits to Tipton city limits - Roadway resurfacing continues in driving lanes and shoulders through early fall of 2011. One lane will be open and crews will flag traffic through the work area.
