Being a part of and serving the community has been something important for Calvin "Cal" Gerlach since he grew up just north of the Moniteau County Courthouse. Gerlach said he started working at the grocery store in high school and has been there ever since.
"I purchased the store, now Cal's Supermarket, from Tom James around 1975," Gerlach said. "My son Troy is the manager. Troy and wife Debra have two daughters. My daughter Stacy and husband Scott Hagerman, who have two sons, run Cal's 2 Convenience Store. I also own Cal's Car Wash on Business 50 and am still associated with The Wash House and Diner 50. We have been here over the years trying to make the town better and serve our customers."
