CLENNIN
Paul R. Clennin, 72, of California, Mo., passed away on Tuesday, February 21, 2012.
He was born on March 6, 1939, the son of Nicholas W. and Trella (Bolin) Clennin at the home of his parents and grandparents north of California. He was married at St. Paul's Lutheran Church to Mary Ann Hoellering on June 28, 1959.
He was always helping others, and enjoyed his farm, cattle and antique tractors. He was presently a member and trustee of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in California, where he also served as an usher, youth counselor and Sunday School Superintendent. Paul served on the Fair Board for many years, was on the MFA Oil Board, past president of the California Rural Fire Association, was a 4-H leader, and spent numerous hours working with his brother Harold at Clennin Meats. Most of all he loved his family.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann, of the home; one son, Russell and wife Tracy, of California; two granddaughters, Morgan Nicole Clennin of Baltimore, MD, and Kalie Ann Clennin of Springfield; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Harold Clennin.
Funeral services were on Saturday, February 25, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Burial was in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery. Officiating was Pastor Peter Kurowski.

CRUME
Howard Preston Crume, age 54, of Oakdale, Minn., passed away Saturday, January 28, 2012, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minn., from complications of advanced diabetes.
Howard was born April 17, 1957, the son of Allen M. Crume and Delana E. Crume-Medlock, in St. Louis, Mo.
At the time of his death, he was married to Leaiwei Lei Crume. He was married in 1979, to Deborah Galbreith and was blessed with a son, Adam A. Crume, who now resides in the state of California.
Howard spent his younger years in St. Louis before moving with his family to California, Mo. in November, 1966, where he graduated from California High School in 1975. Howard was on the varsity football team and was one of the Captains of the Team during his senior year. He then went on to attend Lincoln University, Jefferson City, Mo., and Southwest Baptist College (now University), Bolivar, Mo., where he graduated with a B.S. degree in Political Science. Howard was a devoted Christian.
Howard is survived by his son, Adam A. Crume (wife Megan); his wife, Leaiwei Crume and stepson, Luke Lei; three sisters, Reida Mishory-Issenroff (husband Zoie), Tel-Aviv, Israel; Donna K. Crume, St. Louis, Mo., and Carol E. Forbis (husband, Allan), Jefferson City, Mo.; and one brother, Paul H. Crume, Lompoc, California.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Allen M. Crume and Delana E. Crume-Medlock and his stepfather, John L. Medlock.
His body was cremated, there were no services.

HARPER
Dr. James T. (J.T.) Harper, 92, of Carrollton, Mo., passed away on Thursday, February 16, 2012 at Boone Hospital in Columbia.
He was born on March 10, 1919, in Carrollton, Mo., to Edgar Bain and Mary Jemima (Sugg) Harper, both of whom preceded him in death.
He attended Carrollton Public Schools through the 11th grade and graduated from Westport High School in Kansas City, Mo., in June 1937. The Great Depression necessitated working one year before entering college in the fall of 1938. He graduated from Central Methodist College, Fayette, Mo., in May 1942, earning a B.A. Degree. J.T. entered the U.S. Navy in October of 1942, graduating from the University of Notre Dame Midshipman's School in January, 1943. He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Navy in December, 1945.
J.T. and Margaret Emily Hert were married on June 10, 1946 in California, Mo. She preceded him in death in 1992.
From 1946 to 1949 he attended and graduated from the University of Colorado Law School in Boulder, Colo., earning a Juris Doctor Degree. In 1951 he received an M.A. Degree (Major in history) from the University of Colorado. J.T. taught Social Studies in Longmont, Colo., public schools from 1949 to 1962. At Longmont High School he was also the assistant football coach, assistant basketball coach, golf coach, and founded The Rhythm Airs dance and stage band in 1954. In September of 1962 he joined the Mesa State College faculty and retired as Emeritus Professor of Economics in December, 1982. At Mesa he served in several leadership roles including Chairman of the Faculty Senate; Chairman of the four Colorado State College Faculty Representative Council, Faculty Representative for all Colorado Higher Education Faculties to the Colorado Commission on Higher Education for four years. He was a member of Phi Alpha Delta (Law Fraternity), Phi Delta Kappa (Education Fraternity), Phi Mu Alpha (Music Fraternity); B.P.O. Elks 1055 (Longmont, Colo.), and the Kiwanis in Carrollton, Mo. He was a member of the First Congregational Church in Grand Junction, Colo., and later the Trinity Lutheran Church in Chesterfield, Mo. From 1975 to 1976 he served as President of the Texas Tech University Dads and Moms Association in Lubbock, Texas.
He is survived by his son, James Thomas Harper II (Tom) and wife Patti; grandchildren Jennifer Lincourt and Jeffrey Harper; and great-grandchildren John Shephard, Damek Lincourt, Amira Lincourt, Madison Lincourt and Reas Harper.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, February 23, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, California, Mo. Burial with full military honors was in California Masonic Cemetery.

KIDDER
John Robert Kidder, 76, of Tipton, died on Monday, February 20, 2012, at St. Mary's Health Center in Jefferson City, Mo.
He was born on May 14, 1935 in Independence, Mo., the son of Loren Paul and Helen Birdie Kidder, both of whom preceded him in death. He was married on September 24, 1960 to Sue Epperson, who survives of the home.
At the time of his death he was working for Central Communications. He retired as a lineman for Co-Mo, and also worked as a deputy sheriff in Moniteau County, an EMT for Mid-Mo Ambulance, police officer for Tipton, Mo., assistant fire chief for Tipton, Mo.; he owned his own Tae Kwando dojo, where he was a second degree black belt; he also was a certified scuba diver and a CPR instructor. He was a member of the American Legion, the Patriot Guard Riders, the Harley Davidson Riders of America, and the Gold Wing Association of Missouri. He served in the United States Navy in Korea, and was very proud of earning his G.E.D. in his late sixties.
He is survived by one son, Loren Robert Kidder of Tipton; one daughter, Ruthie Helen Volkart and husband Harold, Jr., of Tipton; six grandchildren, Matthew Robert Kidder, Laura Beth McCollom, Kristina Volkart, Rachael Rene Kidder, Morgan Christine Carlson, and Ashley Volkart; and two great-grandchildren, Allyssa Bailey Vogeli and Wyatt Matthew Kidder. He was preceded in death by one brother, Kenneth Kidder.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, February 25, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, California, Mo.

PUGH
Mary L. Pugh, age 80 of Clinton, Missouri, passed away Sunday, February 26, 2012 at Golden Living - Westwood Care Center, Clinton.
Mary was a homemaker. She was of the Christian Faith and attended New Hope Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents Albert and Mary (Shaw) Moore; brother Kenneth Moore; and an infant sister.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law Clyde and Ann Pugh, and son Robert Pugh, both of Clinton; daughter, Helen Crapps, Sedalia; brother Charles Moore, Jefferson City; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, March 1, 2012 at Vansant-Mills Chapel, Clinton, Missouri, with interment in Englewood Cemetery, Clinton. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at the chapel.

ROGERS
Earl Loam Rogers, 83, Independence, Mo., died Jan. 31, 2012 at Centerpoint Hospital, Independence, Mo.
Earl was born Jan. 10,1929 in Fall City, Neb.. He served his country honorably from 1951 to 1953.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Darlene Rogers; daughters, Sherry Hostetter, Sibley, Mo., and Tammy Donnici, Charley, Liberty, Mo.; sons Danny Rogers and Stephen Rogers, both of Independence Mo.; sisters, Dorothy Enloe, Betty Clark and Shirley Tippie; and brothers, Leo, Ivan, Lawrence and Dean Rogers; eight grandchildren and three great-grandsons
He was buried with military honors on Feb. 3, 2012 in Swan Lake Memorial Park, Grain Valley, Mo.
SCOTT
Helen Hert Scott, 92, of California, Mo., passed away on Thursday, February 23, 2012 at her home.
She was born on October 19, 1919, in California, Mo., the daughter of Walter L. and Lela (Morris) Hert. She was married to Lilburn A. Scott, who preceded her in death on August 12, 1993.
During her working years, she worked in Kansas City for Allstate Insurance and as a legal secretary for a law firm. Mrs. Scott was a graduate of California High School and had been a long time member of the Christian Church, Disciples of Christ. At the time of her death, she was a member of First Baptist Church in California.
Survivors include her daughter, Sharon Cook and husband David of Columbus, Ohio; her grandson, Christopher Cook and wife, Hatsuho of Cleveland, Ohio, and their children, Clara and James; a granddaughter, Elizabeth Cook of Plano, Texas; a sister, Dorothy Hansen of Kansas City, Kan.; and many nieces and nephews, including Donna Longan of California, Mo. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Ruth Hert Pope and Marian Hert Nichols.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, February 26, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, California, Mo. Burial was in California Masonic Cemetery. Officiating was Rev. Dan Rowlison and Mr. Jack Bowlin.
