The California High School varsity Pinto golfers teamed up with the Tipton Cardinals to represent Moniteau County at the 2013 County Cup Golf Tournament Wednesday, April 3, at Eldon Country Club, where Cole County, represented by Russellville and Eugene, ultimately won the County Cup with 583. Moniteau County finished in second place with 606, followed by Osage County, third, 609; Callaway County, fourth, 635; and Morgan/Miller Counties, fifth place, 680.

"It was a fun day for the boys to play some relaxed golf," California Coach Doug Miller said.

California hosted a triangular match with Blair Oaks and Osage Monday, April 8, where the Falcons won with 169. The Pintos followed with 187, while Osage finished with 203.

Blair Oaks' Tanner Elder was the varsity medalist with 37, while teammate Kory Franks was the runner-up with 38.

California was led by Kade McAdms with 45. Tyler Elliott followed with 46; Conner George, 47; John Wolken, 49; and Curtis Lehman, 51.

"We had rough course conditions," Miller said. "I know we all played the same course, but the condition of the course certainly didn't help our scores."

Blair Oaks won the JV match with 184. Osage finished with 218.

Blair Oaks' Corbin Singer was the JV medalist with 42. Runners-up were Austyn Moreland and Devin Kroll with 45 each.

The JV Pintos competed individually, led by Chase Ramsdell and Cole George with 46 each. Damon Shaw shot a 56.

The Pintos will participate in Southern Boone Classic today (Wednesday) at Eagle Knoll Golf Club, Hartsford, at 9 a.m.
