Pintos place second at Mexico match

The California High School varsity boys golf team participated in a match at Arthur Hills Golf Course, Mexico, March 31, where the Pintos finished in second place with 189. Mexico won the match with 171, while Fatima finished third with 199.

Mexico's Austin Kelsay was the medalist with 42. California's Dylan Kramel was the runner-up with 43.

Other individual results for California are as follows: John Wolken, 46; Kade McAdams, 48; Tyler Elliott, 52; and Cole George, 59.

"Dylan Kramel and John Wolken's scores are about where they should be," California Coach Doug Miller said. "They have been the most consistent this season. The rest of the boys, including our JV, need to get more focused because they are much better than they are playing."

Individual results for California's JV are as follows: Dustin Ferguson and Luke Freeman, 57 each; and Kale McAdams, 64.

The Pintos participated in a match at the Eldon Country Club Friday, where they won the match with 186. Eldon followed with 191. Osage finished third with 195, while Versailles placed fourth with 253.

Versailles' Travis Reger was the medalist with 43 individually.

California's Tyler Elliott was the runner-up with 44.

Other individual results for the Pintos are as follows: Kramel, 45; Kade McAdams, 46; Wolken, 51; and George, 56.

"I don't think we're playing to our potential yet, but we're winning, so that's good," Miller said. "Tyler and Kade are playing well and I feel like we're beginning to turn the corner."

Individual results for California's JV are as follows: Ferguson, 46; Kale McAdams, 62; and Freeman, 65.

The Pintos will participate in a match at Redfield Golf and Country Club, Eugene, Thursday.
