"We're currently 9-2, which is way above where I thought we would be at this point, so I'm very proud of the boys," California Coach Doug Miller said. "We haven't even met our potential yet, so I'm anxious to see how we do the rest of the season."

The Pintos participated in a quadrangular match Thursday at Redfield Golf and Country Club, Eugene, where California finished in second place with 182. Eugene won the match with 140. New Bloomfield finished third with 193, and Linn followed with 211.

California's Kramel shot a 90 individually, while Kade McAdams and Elliott placed third overall in the scramble competition with 74.

"The top three scramble teams got medals," Miller said. "Placing third out of 32 scramble teams is very good, so I'm proud of Kade and Tyler."

Miller added, "This was Dylan Kramel's first 18-hole tourney, and he had just shot his personal best at Eugene, so he's playing really well."

Kale McAdams and George posted a 93 in the scramble competition.

"This was Kale's first varsity action," Miller said.

Blair Oaks placed first in the team competition, followed by Helias in second place, Dixon third, and Lincoln fourth.
