Pintos win back-to-back matches

The California High School varsity boys golf team hosted Fatima April 7 at the California Country Club, followed by another home match April 8, against Boonville, where the Pintos ultimately captured a win at both.

California won the match against Fatima with 183. The Comets finished with 199.

Pinto Tyler Elliott was the medalist with 43. Other individual results for California are as follows: Dylan Kramel, 45; Kade McAdams, 47; Cole George, 48; and John Wolken, 54.

California's JV was led by Dustin Ferguson with 51. Kale McAdams shot a 61, while Luke Freeman posted a 63.

The Pintos won the match against Boonville April 8 with 180. The Pirates finished with 183.

Brett Windsor, Boonville, was the medalist with 34.

California was led by Kramel with 44. Elliott and Kade McAdams each shot a 45. George posted a 46, and Wolken finished with 48.

California's JV was led by Kale McAdams with 55. Ferguson shot a 57, and Freeman, 59.

"We're currently 9-2, which is way above where I thought we would be at this point, so I'm very proud of the boys," California Coach Doug Miller said. "We haven't even met our potential yet, so I'm anxious to see how we do the rest of the season."

The Pintos participated in a quadrangular match Thursday at Redfield Golf and Country Club, Eugene, where California finished in second place with 182. Eugene won the match with 140. New Bloomfield finished third with 193, and Linn followed with 211.

Eugene's Drew Geritz was the medalist with 32.

The Pintos were led by Kramel, who shot a 38. Elliott followed with 44; Kade McAdams, 47; George, 53; and Ferguson, 55.

California's JV results included the following: Freeman, 52; and Kale McAdams, 53.

The Pintos participated in a tournament at Dogwood Hills Golf Resort, Osage, Friday, where California finished seventh out of 16 teams with 257.

California's Kramel shot a 90 individually, while Kade McAdams and Elliott placed third overall in the scramble competition with 74.

"The top three scramble teams got medals," Miller said. "Placing third out of 32 scramble teams is very good, so I'm proud of Kade and Tyler."

Miller added, "This was Dylan Kramel's first 18-hole tourney, and he had just shot his personal best at Eugene, so he's playing really well."

Kale McAdams and George posted a 93 in the scramble competition.

"This was Kale's first varsity action," Miller said.

Blair Oaks placed first in the team competition, followed by Helias in second place, Dixon third, and Lincoln fourth.

Blair Oaks finished first in the individual competition as well.

In the scramble competition, the Falcons placed first, with Helias in second place, and California in third.

The Pintos will participate in the Southern Boone Classic beginning at 9 a.m. today (Wednesday) at Eagle Knoll Golf Course, Ashland.
