Vehicles vandalized during Project Graduation

Three Russellville High School graduates returned from the parent-sponsored Project Graduation this weekend to find their cars vandalized.

According to the Cole County Sheriff's Department one car was stolen and items were taken from two other cars parked at the school from 9 p.m. Saturday to 5:30 a.m. Sunday.

The stolen vehicle later was found to be destroyed by fire in the 7900 block of Campbell Road.

Miscellaneous items had been taken from the unlocked vehicles.

The Sheriff's Department is following up leads, including video surveillance from the school. Jefferson City Area Crime Stoppers has offered a $500 reward for information leading to an arrest.
