Columbia woman dies after shooting

COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) - Authorities said a woman has died after being struck by bullets that went through the wall of a Columbia home.

Columbia police spokeswoman Bryana Larimer said 25-year-old Shamya N. Brimmage was pronounced dead Tuesday night at a local hospital.

Larimer said Brimmage and another woman were hit Tuesday when bullets went through the wall of a house. The other woman was also hospitalized.

Larimer said investigators believe one or more shooters fired at the home.

Police responded to another shooting several hours earlier on the same block. Larimer said officers found shell casings and a home hit by gunfire. No injuries have been reported from that shooting, but Larimer said investigators believe the two incidents may be related.
