Several Pintos qualify for track sectionals

Four California Pintos track athletes advanced to the State Sectionals after the team competed at the Class 3 District 4 Meet at Centralia on May 11. The boys team finished tied for seventh place out of 12 teams with 48 points. Centralia won first place with 160 points for the boys. The girls team finished in 11th place out of 12 teams with 18 points. Montgomery County finished in first place with 126 points for the girls.

Isaac Ash advanced to state sectionals for the 400-meter dash with a time of 52.23 and the triple jump with a distance of 39-9. Caden Kirksey advanced in the 3200 meter run with a time of 10:32.59. Nathan Pickering advanced in shot put with a distance of 47-7.25 and he advanced in the discus with a distance of 138-0. Quinn Albertson advanced in Javelin with a distance of 125-2.

The California boys results included 100-meter dash, Tyler Patterson, 11th place, 12.53, and Ryan Staton, 13th place, 12.61; 200-meter dash, Tyler Patterson, 11th place, 25.99, and Joseph Menchaca, 14th place, 26.34; 400-meter dash; Isaac Ash, first place, 52.23, and David Leon, 10th place, 56.74; 800-meter dash, William Ireland, 18th place, 2:37.10; 1,600-meter run, William Ireland, 18th place, 2:37.10; 3,200-meter run, Caden Kirksey, first place, 10:32.59, and Matthew Kilmer, 13th place, 12:20.52; 4x400-meter relay, relay team, eighth place, 3:55.51; long jump, Isaac Ash, sixth place, 19-0, and Eli Dunnaway, 13th place, 16-2.5; triple jump, Isaac Ash, third place, 39-9, and Eli Dunnaway, 10th place, 35-7.5; discus, Nathan Pickering, third place, 138-0, and Kent Riley, 16th place, 103-8; javelin, Nathan Pickering, sixth place, 128-9, and Will Pickering, eighth place, 123-6; and shot put, Nathan Pickering, second place, 47-7.25, and Kent Riley, 12th place, 38-2.25.
