Nick K. Hampton, 65, of Wellington, MO, formerly of California, MO passed away on Friday, November 30, 2012 at Center Point Medical Center in Independence, MO. He was born on October 12, 1947 in California, MO the son of William Bruce and Euda Jane (Nickles) Hampton, both of whom preceded him in death. He attended the Jefferson City Public Schools. He was married on November 30, 1973 at Grace United Methodist Church in Jamestown, MO to Linda Dahlstein, who survives of the home. He worked as a saw operator for Gamble's and later Pendleton's in California; he also worked for Cargill and the Jefferson City Housing Authority. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Jamestown, MO. Nick loved to fish and collect antiques. He is survived by one brother, David Hampton and wife Sherry of California; one sister, Patsy Huth of Jefferson City, MO; father-in-law Bill Dahlstein; sister-in-law Rhonda Stewart and husband Jim of Syracuse, MO; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother, William Bruce Hampton, Jr. of Malvern, KS; and one nephew, Fred Barlow. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 7, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, California, MO. Burial will be in Grace United Methodist Cemetery in Jamestown. Officiating will be Rev. David Stephenson. Visitation will also be held on Friday, December 7, 2012 from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to either Grace United Methodist Church, the Cerebral Palsy Foundation, or Missouri Rehabilitation Services for the Blind, c/o Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, 100 S. Oak, California, MO 65018. Arrangements are under the direction of Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services, California, MO.
