Alice May Milligan

Alice May Milligan, 85, of California, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, December 9, 2012 at California Care Center in California, Missouri. She was born on January 4, 1927 in Moniteau County, Missouri to Orville and Loretta (Hill) Bolinger, both of whom preceded her in death. She was united in marriage on January 2, 1947 in Olathe, Kansas to Leo Ray Milligan, who preceded her in death on October 22, 2002. Alice was a 1945 graduate of California High School and attended Missouri State Teachers College in Warrensburg. Alice was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. She retired in 1988 from California Elementary School where she worked for many years as a playground supervisor and teacher's aide. She is survived by two sons, Dale Milligan and wife Vicki of California, and Russell Milligan and wife Donna of California; one daughter, Shirley Stegner and husband Ken of Boonville, MO; twelve grandchildren, Jennifer Schoenthal and husband Chris, of Jamestown, MO, Allison Kruger and husband B. J., of California, Stacy Kusgen and husband Steve of California, James Milligan and wife Lisa of Clarksburg, MO, Brent Milligan of California, MO, Ryan Milligan and wife Tina of California, Kristin Dickerson and husband Drew of Weiser, ID, Jacob Stegner and wife Nancy of Kalamazoo, MI, Jonathon Stegner and wife Becky of Graham, NC, Joseph Stegner and wife Pearl of Durango, Co, Chuck Brandes and wife Teresa of Bunceton, MO and Bob Brandes and wife Tammy of Bunceton, MO; twenty-three great-grandchildren, Bradley, Evan, Brayden and Ethan Schoenthal, Calen, Colin and Carson Kruger, Riley, Blain and Reece Kusgen, Hadley and Logan Milligan, Brinley Milligan, Dylan Dickerson, Lydia, Caleb, and Jael Stegner, Jubal and Luke Stegner, Samantha Brandes, and Layne, Cooper and Weston Brandes. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Gale Sue Brandes and three siblings, Jacob, Ada and Betty who died in infancy. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, north of California, MO. Burial was in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery north of California, MO. Officiating was Pastor David Griffith. Memorials are suggested to Mt.
