Harlan Ray Dowell

Harlan Ray Dowell, 64, of Latham, Missouri died Monday, May 13, 2013 at his home. He was born in Latham on August 23, 1948, the son of John Leonard and Margaret Ruth Oneal Dowell. On July 29, 1968, in California, Missouri, Harlan was married to Jeanie Yates Dowell. He worked for Cargill, Inc., in California from November 1966 to April 2009. After retiring he spent his days at the farm. Harlan enjoyed spending time with his family, friends and grandchildren. He loved hunting, fishing, gunsmithing, gardening, reading and spending time at the pond. He is survived by his wife Jeanie of the home; four children, Missie Allee, Jefferson City, Angela Faye Rambo (Duane),Tipton, Harlan Ray Dowell, Jr. (Tara), Tipton, John Leonard Dowell, ll, (Jennifer), Tipton; three brothers, Kenny Dowell, Paris, Leo Dowell, Versailles, Richard Dowell, Latham; three sisters, Darlene Widowski, Versailles, Helen Sims, Stover, Neva Reed, Eldon; 15 grandchildren; 5 step grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; 6 step great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, Edward and Charles Dowell; 2 sisters, Katie Richardson and Viola Rogers; 3 nephews, Donald Richardson, Jeffrey Wolf and Ace Dowell; 1 great niece, Nikia and 1 great nephew, Jeremy. Funeral Services were held Thursday, May 16, 2013 at Windmill Ridge Funeral Chapel. Interment followed in the Green Grove Cemetery near Latham.
