Ava S. Weaver

Ava S. Weaver, RN, 61, of Tipton, MO., passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2013 at her home in Tipton, MO. She was born December 25, 1951 the daughter of Richard "Dick" Porter and Joyce (Inman) Porter both of whom preceded her in death. Ava was a 1969 graduate from California High School where she won sports athlete of the year award from Dr. Riley. She was also a 1995 graduate of Lincoln University School of Nursing. She was united in Marriage on January 11, 1969 at the Friendship Baptist Church to Pete Weaver who survives of the home. Ava was a Registered Nurse. She was a rehab nurse at Bothwell Hospital, Director of Nursing at Tipton Oak Manor, worked at California Care Center and Good Shepherd Care Center and also worked for the State Legislature. She liked reading, loved traveling, and always enjoyed a good meal. She is survived by 2 sons; Cary Weaver and wife Tonya, Bryan Weaver and wife Kristen all of Tipton, MO; one daughter, Kelly Welker and husband K.C. of Murieta, CA; one sister, Sharon Croy and husband Jerry of Centertown, MO; 4 grandchildren, Kelsey Brianne, Kacey Brielle, Dalton Wray Weaver, Reece Anthony Weaver, 3 great grandchildren; 2 step grandchildren, Garrett Chance Welker and Nicole Renee Edgeman; foster daughter, Susan Powell of Jamestown, MO; god-daughter, Jenna Goff of Jamestown, MO and foster grandchildren, Adam Goff and David Powell. She was preceded in death by one brother, Leon Porter and one sister, Gloria Baker. Funeral services were held on Saturday, November 16, 2013 at the funeral home. Officiating was Mr. Michael Anderson. Memorials are suggested to the Susan G. Komen Foundation c/o Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Service, 100 S. Oak St. California, MO 65018.
