Michael Dean Schaffter, age 57 of Tipton, passed away May 10th, 2014, at the University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia. He was born on December 8th, 1956, in Tipton. He was the son of Glenn and Mary (Aeschbacher) Schaffter. He was united in marriage on June 24th, 1978, in Tipton, Missouri to Cindy Yontz who survives of the home. Mike was a graduate of Tipton High School and of State Fair Community College. Afterwards, he continued the family business as owner and operator of Schaffter Equipment a John Deere Dealership for 48 years. After this, Mike worked at Sydenstricker's in sales. He was a life long resident of Tipton, who loved his community and showed it by his continuous involvement. Mike was a member of the Christian Church of Tipton and also attended St. Andrews Catholic Church with his family. Mike enjoyed spending time with his family at their farm, traveling with his sons for their motocross racing series, family vacations, creating his own barbecue recipes and techniques, and most of all, spending time with his grandson Corbin. His life was surrounded by his love for his fellow employees and customers who became life long friends. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Cindy. His two sons: Chad Schaffter (Tricia), Chase Schaffter and fiancé Stephanie Simon, mother: Mary Schaffter, brother: Barry Schaffter (Becka), grandson: Corbin Schaffter, aunt and uncle: Ellen and Don Hofstetter, and loved by in-laws, nieces and nephews. He was proceeded in death by his father Glenn Schaffter In lieu of flowers memorial donations are appreciated to Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home (P.O. Box 26, Versailles, MO 65084, 573.378.4655) or Cindy Schaffter (PO Box 442 Tipton, MO 65081) to be applied to the Schaffter Memorial.
