Judy Leslie Barbour Blankenship of Grandview, MO passed away Saturday, May 21, 2016. Judy was the daughter of Virgil L. and Goldie (Hill) Barbour which preceded her in death. She was born on October 9, 1943 in Latham, MO. Judy graduated from Tipton High School in 1961 and moved to state of California immediately following. She loved living in California where she lived with her siblings and worked in a hospital. After many years, Judy moved back to Missouri after marrying JW Blankenship. Judy retired from Tipton Manor Nursing Home after 19 years of service where she had a heart for the patients that lived there and grew attached to many of them over the years. Judy enjoyed working in the Alzheimer's Unit where she felt that they were very special people. Judy was a member of Latham Christian Church, but later attended Pisgah Baptist Church where she loved hearing her good friend Curly Wood preach. After moving to Grandview, MO she attended First Baptist Church of Grandview with Clint and his family. Judy loved the Lord and told anyone and everyone how He alone has helped her through all the illnesses. Judy's hobbies over the years were painting, gardening, helping others, spending time with her friends and especially watching her grandkids grow up. Nothing lit her face up more than seeing her grandkids come for a visit or go watch them at an event. She is survived by her sons, Darin Waid and his wife Donna Blankenship of South Carolina and Clint Ashley and his wife Amy Rohrbach Blankenship of Grandview, MO and 7 grandchildren, Matthew, Micah, Rachel, Kayla, Karin, Kyle and Kenton and 2 great grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister Pauline Klenze; one brother Joe Barbour; sister-n-law Lois Ann Barbour; step-mother, Lucille Barbour; three step-sisters, Elsie and her husband Billy Meyer, Kathy and her husband Larry Murphy and Sherry Lynn and her husband Richard Tuttle, and step-brother Russell D. Yarnell, and many nieces, nephews and friends. Preceding her in death were 2 brothers, Jimmie H. Barbour and Jackie L. Barbour; 1 sister, Mae Gordon and 1 niece, Kay Beth Borts. Visitation will be on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM at Windmill Ridge Funeral Service in California, MO. Following the visitation, Funeral Services will be at 1:00 PM with Rev. Michael Nelson officiating. Interment will be in the Latham Cemetery.
