Chester Lee Marshall

Rev. Chester Lee Marshall 88, of Jamestown, Mo., met his Lord, Christ Jesus, on September 27, 2016. He was born on the Klatt farm outside of Jamestown on April 7, 1928, to Lulu (Aegeter) Marshall and Raymond Marshall, who preceded him in death. He graduated from Jamestown High School in 1946, and the University of Missouri in 1950 with a degree in Agricultural Extension. He loved the fact that President Harry Truman was the commencement speaker at his college graduation. Chester was a proud veteran of the Korean War serving in Battery B of the 235th Field Artillery and Observation Battalion. He was honorably discharged from the United States Army, April 28, 1957. He started Jamestown Quality Eggs, and owned and operated Marshall Feed and Supply for over 30 years. He was the minister of St. Paul's Evangelical Church in Jamestown, Moniteau Advent Church, and St. Peter's Pleasant Grove Church for over 20 years. Chester was a founding member of the Jamestown Lions Club, helped form the Jamestown Senior Housing, coached Youth Baseball for over 20 years, and taught Sunday School for over 40 years. He was a lifelong farmer and cattleman, a great crappie fisherman, storyteller, Mizzou Tiger Fan, and Cardinal Baseball Fan. He is survived by: his beloved wife, Goldie (Irwin) Marshall, whom he married October 23, 1951; six children, Gary (Kim), Dick, Bob (Lisa), Don (Nancy), Dianne and Ronnie (Michelle), 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Janet (Marshall) Reimler (Frank); two nieces, Vicki Reimler and Kathy Reimler. He was preceded in death by one sister Nona Mae Marshall. If a person ever meant so much to a community it was Chester. He employed, coached, taught, married, confirmed, baptized, and mentored so many people. He is a man who will be greatly missed. He lived an amazing life. Visitation was held on Sunday, October 2, 2016, from 3 7 p.m., at St. Paul's Evangelical Church in Jamestown, Mo. Funeral service was held on Monday, October 3, 2016, at 10:00 a.m., at St. Paul's Evangelical Church in Jamestown, Mo. Burial with Military Honors will be at St. Paul's Evangelical Cemetery in Jamestown, Mo. Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Paul's Evangelical Church and Moniteau Advent Church c/o the funeral home. Arrangements were under the direction of Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Services of California, Mo.
